Our wine garden with the great Swartberg Mountains as a backdrop is the perfect site to savour our exquisite wines over a relaxed tapas-style lunch.

The Karoo Victorian-style homestead and relaxed atmosphere creates that tranquil "Karoo feeling". Mix and match your Karoo Tapas lunch selection, perfectly complimented by a crisp white or rose - perfect for those warm Karoo days. From ostrich carpachio and Karoo olives with fresh bread and a variety of cheese - a sensual experience of the Karoo with locally produced delicatessen being used throughout.

Monday - Friday: 09:30am – 16:00pm | Saturday: 10:00am – 14:30pm
Closed on Sundays / Christmas Day / Public Holidays.

Our private conference facility can host 30 people seated for private tastings and or corporate meetings and workshops. We cater for small intimate weddings, private functions and year-end functions. Karusa is the only working vineyard and winery to cater for these functions in Oudtshoorn.

The backdrop of the Swartberg and the meticulously cared-for vineyards makes this the perfect photo shoot location for your wedding - with the beautiful Cango Valley church only a stones throw away.

Sample tapas menu

Depending on time of year, we will add to/tailor the menu based on fresh ingredients available locally. If you would like us to send you a menu with pricing, please contact us and we will be happy to do so.

Basic cheese platter (biscuits, melba toast, pretzels)
with a choice of 5 of the following:

  • Cream cheese (Chives & onion or smoked ham)
  • 2 seasons or garlic pepper yoghurt cheese
  • Gouda cheese
  • Cheddar cheese (3 months)
  • Matured cheddar (6 months)
  • Brie
  • Camembert
  • Sweet chilli sauce
  • Sweet watermelon preserve
  • Calamata olives
  • Simonzola (Italian style blue cheese)
  • Green figs
  • Gherkin schnibbel (sweet & sour gherkins).

Additions to cheese platter / other choices:

  • Bread: Brown seed bread or ciabatta.
  • Meat choices: salami, smoked chicken breast, beef biltong, ostrich carpaccio, springbok carpaccio, smoked salmon slices.
  • Pate: Ostrich, spingbok, kudu.
